History of practice:

Timothy Langford (Principal dentist of Apollonia House Dental Practice) qualified from Dundee university in 1974, and did an invaluable apprenticeship with Ken Adam in Bognor, followed by an associateship in Devon and then 3 years back in Sussex at Midhurst, by which time he felt ready to set up a practice of his own. Royal College of Surgeons website.

Timothy Langford initially opened a small two surgery practice just off Alton High street in 1981. The building had a remarkable conversion from a disused public lavatory in the middle of the old market town. The practice was essentially NHS based and grew very quickly. Soon the premises became very cramped and a Grade II listed cottage was purchased and converted in 1989 becoming Apollonia House Dental Practice.

The business rapidly expanded to fill the new premises. As well as the building the members of staff increased from just Tim and his Hygienist to an associate dentist and a newly qualified dentist (Vocational trainee).

Over the years Tim has often been involved in the training of newly qualified dentists. The scheme introduced in the late 1980's takes a newly qualified dentist and provides a years experience in a dental practice, four days in the practice and one day in a class-room. British Dental Association
